We're home

It's been a little more than a week since my last post and a lot has changed. The movers came on Monday around 10am. We were pretty much packed up and ready to go. The weather, however, had other plans. There was a huge line of thunderstorms that prevented our movers from loading the truck until around 2ish. Once they left, we had the rest of the day to clean and wrap up final details. We left our apartment on Tuesday morning, had breakfast with my family as a final send-off and embarked on a 10+ hour drive. The trip can be summarized in photos.

Emmie asleep in the car in VA.

Emmie and Graisen asleep in the car in NC.

Emmie asleep in the car in SC.

Emmie asleep in the car in GA.

They pretty much slept the whole entire way here. They awoke only to get out and stretch their little legs, potty, and drink some water. What a life.

I will write more later.

I see we've both been away from blog land for a little while. I'm super envious of the way your dogs made the trip. One of ours slept the entire way, but the other one rarely sleeps in the car; she's too busy exploring the floor, sitting in your lap trying to help you steer, or trying to climb onto the dashboard (all 20 lbs of her). I did finally get an answer from a friend (I feel the need to double-check these things) about dogs on MARTA. They're not allowed unless they are service animals.

Hope you're getting settled in and have a chance to explore the area. What part of Atlanta are you living in?

Your dogs are so sweet! When we moved from SC to AZ, we carried along 3 kids and a cat spread out between two cars. Let me just say that the cat was not appreciative of the five day journey.

Is that a Vera Bradley Java blue bag in the pictures of the car? Sorry, I just had to ask because I'm slightly addicted to Vera's stuff.

I need to tell my source that she's wrong about dogs on MARTA. Caging is an idea and the dog park at Piedmont Park is definitely worth it. I'm so glad that you're living in Decatur, pretty much my favorite place in the world. I graduated from Agnes Scott and spent four great years there. I miss it alot.

Since you're in that area, please let me know if you need recommendations on anything. I don't know if you've found a new vet yet, but if you haven't, Dr. Grinecko (sp?) at Avondale Veterinary Hospital is great AND family.
